Shave ’em to Save ’em!

This is a great program that gives spinners, crocheters, knitters and other fiber makers the opportunity to use fibers that are unusual, support smaller family farms and help save a breed, all at the same time.

Here is a link to their website. Here you can find out more info, enroll for your passport, learn about breeds and where to buy fiber or yarn.

I decide to get involved when I received my sticker for Clun Forest when I ordered fiber from Left Hand Wool Company in Niwot, Colorado. I ordered the wool to support a Fibershed Producer for a Colorado based project I’m working on.

The sticker I got from Left Hand Wool Company.
Here is the front of my passport.
Here is the wool I ordered from Left Hand Wool Company. It is prepped and ready to dye. There will be a full tutorial video in the future.

I have worked with some of the other breeds but don’t have stickers for them. Some were before Shave ’em to Save ’em was a thing and others are those that I raised on my own. There isn’t a category for that. I understand, they want you to support the shepherds that are doing the work to save these breeds from extinction.
