I am often surprised when I receive the monthly numbers from YouTube to let me know how many minutes my channel was watched, at how much it is. I’m not there for the money or to go viral, I’m there to help stitchers to learn something new and level up their stitching.
I keep my videos as short as possible. I don’t have much of an introduction, no pre-technique info about yarn or tools, unless it is vital to what is going on.

My longest video is just over 30 minutes and was shot over the course of a couple of weeks. It is how to sew on an Estonian Lace Edging.
My shortest video is just over 2 minutes, how to work the treble crochet stitch.
Most of my videos are around 5 minutes. It’s a get in and get out type of situation. I don’t want to take up your stitching time with extra info or other things you don’t need at the moment. I’m here to get you over the hump and back into your project.
Two years ago I started adding more details to my videos to make them more accessible to more people. Most of my videos since the beginning of 2022 are closed captioned, have the technique repeated one more time and include directions for a swatch to work along with the video.
I am no longer using background music either. I find it distracting. My parakeets are there, because they live in the room where I shoot and sometimes the dogs are too.
The swatch, closed captioning and other things I add as learn, make the videos useful for just about every learning style. If there is something I can add to my videos to make them more accessible to you, please let me know.
