Las Cruces Shawl Vest – KNIT and CROCHET

The Las Cruces shawl vest is in honor of the city I now call home, Las Cruces, New Mexico. This piece, which can be made as a shawl or a vest, combines stitches, motif and colors to create elements of the scenery here. The seed stitch for the sand in my backyard, ripple motif for the Organ Mountains and the colors in the original knit piece, are the colors I see in this desert through the seasons.

The Las Cruces shawl vest will be a great addition to your wardrobe as it can be worn in multiple seasons. It keeps your core warm and your arms free to move about as you need to. Choose your colors and make the pattern stripe to remind you of a special time or place. There is a coloring sheet and detailed directions to help you do just that.

Stitched with fingering weight yarn gives you the opportunity to use leftovers from other projects, mini skeins in stash or to buy specifically for your perfect color combination.

The Las Cruces Shawl Vest is a fashionable and practical addition to any wardrobe, that you will reach for again and again.
