Description
I saw this unusual ribbing pattern on a man’s socks at open-mic one night and decided I wanted to make some socks like those. This is a great pattern because it is a break from the usual 2 x 2 rib and is awesome for every member of the family!

FINISHED SIZES To fit with 1″ / 2.5 cm of negative ease, measure around the foot where the toes end. 1 – 4.5” / 11 cm 2 – 5” / 12.5 cm 3 – 5.75” / 14.5 cm 4 – 6.5” / 16 cm 5 – 7.25” / 18 cm 6 – 8” / 20 cm 7 – 8.75” / 22 cm 8 – 9.5” / 24 cm
MATERIALS Needles US size 1.5 / 2.5 mm type desired for small circumference knitting Yarn Fingering or Sock weight yarn 1 – 175 yds / 160 m 2 – 200 yds / 185 m 3 – 250 yds / 230 m 4 – 275 yds / 255 m 5 – 350 yds / 325 m 6 – 350 yds / 325 m 7 – 450 yds / 420 m 8 – 475 yds / 440 m Original knit in Size 6, modeled on a 9.25” / 23.5 cm circumference foot, using 2 skeins of Brown Sheep Company, Wildfoote, in Little Lilac, 215 yds / 196 m per 50g Notions stitch markers – 1 to mark BOR, and if your method of small circumference knitting requires, then please use more. progress keeper tape measure scissors tapestry needle
GAUGE 36 sts and 40 rnds to 4” / 10 cm in rib pattern, relaxed; 30 sts and 40 rnds to 4” / 10 cm in stockinette pattern. Both are in the round and blocked.
CONSTRUCTION These socks are made from the cuff down with a heel flap and gusset and then the toe is grafted closed.
