Description

I created these socks after finding the colorway at a fiber festival.  The name of the colorway is Verdant.  That is the name of the club the Oliver Queen, Green Arrow, owns in the T.V. show “Arrow”.

I wanted arrows that went all different directions.  I then decided to make the socks mirror each other.  Therefore one is for the left foot and the other is for the right foot with the arrows pointing in those directions.

This project also took me on an adventure about the relationship between decreases and yarn overs.  Blog post and video coming in the future!

Arrow Socks are hand knit socks available in 3 sizes.

FINISHED SIZES Small – foot circumference of 7″ / 17.75 cm Medium – foot circumference of 7.75″ / 19.5 cm Large – foot circumference of 8.5″ / 21.5 cm

YARN Fingering weight yarn, 1 set of 5 minis totaling 430 yards / 393 m or 100 g. Be careful with color choice as a busy or dark color will “eat” the design.

NEEDLES US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles for working a small circumference in the round

GAUGE 34 sts and 44 rounds to 4″ / 10cm in stockinette

NOTIONS Stitch markers, number needed will vary based on needle choice

SKILLS USED Techniques used in this pattern are backwards loop cast on, working in the round, chart reading, various decreases, yarn over increases, centered eyelet stitch and Kitchener stitch grafting. You can see the list of all my tutorials HERE and check out my YouTube channel. These socks are worked from the cuff down with a lace motif that can be mirrored on the other sock. The heel is constructed using the heel flap and gusset method. The toe is grafted closed. Directions are mostly charted. This pattern has been tech edited and tested.
